Studio Open for Christmas

Come and get all your unique Christmas Shopping Fix at the first Loeism sale! To combat the craziness of this year (most of you know we are renovating a house and anyone who has done that knows it is a crazy time!) I have been working on things that I can do in small amounts if time. The Loeism was born! Basically I use that term to describe anything I have worked on lately that is not painting. I have done collages with old ads from magazines, boxes using my kid’s action figures and really- anything in between. I have shamelessly used the illustrations and beautiful works of other artists to create pieces that show their works, with my touches, off to the best advantage. Much of the vintage work was a matter of cut and paste. They had a serious design sense way back when. At any rate- it has been a blast. Being the over-doer, I have TONS-which works for the buyer. Come and see what is up. OH- and there are plenty of paintings here too J. Not planning to give up the day job, but this has been one fun and invigorating month or so just letting my creative thoughts run wild and just seeing what happens. I recommend it to anyone who creates-take a little break from your norm and just see what happens…Pretty cool and extremely relaxing!

Loeism’s range from UNDER $50 to just over $100. A very affordable, unique present.

Giving original art pieces is a gift that someone will cherish long after the sweater is faded from memory. Even consider giving pieces to your children. They will then give them to their children.

Support all local artists this season. We have so much to offer in Richmond. This weekend is the North Side artists Sale (my card has disappeared! It is always a great sale of artists living in the North Side of Richmond), Ellie Cox has her Open House on Sunday from 2-6-she is an incredible water color painter. Next weekend is Craft Mafia at Visual Arts Center of Richmond and the Chop Suey Tuey in Carytown always has cool gifts on the top floor. My good friend Steve Hedberg has a cool online show at Glave Kocen Gallery (glavekocengallery.com)-- I think that there is also a “bizarre” craft market behind Carytown –this or next weekend. At any rate. There is no reason not to stuff your stockings with one of a kind, cool pieces that also help keep the culture alive and well in Richmond, VA!

If I am able to open next weekend or during the week I will let you know on Facebook!
