I was looking at this little girl and realized I do her all the time. I went back and looked at a lot of older work recently because I was trying to find something specific. Anyone else rabbit hole on the iphone? So I saw a little girl kind of like this one that I did fully 15 years ago. For me painting her it is a capturing light thing. I love to paint highlights on white and the highlight of a yellow and then in this one the contrast of the black book and her shoes. I repeat subject matter but every time I do, I am a different painter. Every day you paint you are different one.
