Maple Shadow Frame

I painted this is in the spring when I was seriously bewildered about what was going on around the world and in my own life with the pandemic. I was having a hard time even wanting to be in the studio. It felt silly in some way to let myself enjoy painting. Frivolous feeling was how it felt. So finally one day I just saw this pink tree just glowing and was like-what the hell. I am going to go paint. And it is an ideal universe of sun and spring and my little dog and was just what I needed to get to work and not feel bad about ignoring to use painting to be happy but to embrace it.
