Maple Shadow Frame

These sandcastle paintings are done from a recent trip where I enjoyed watching a group of kids just immerse themselves in the beach. The weather was perfect and watching them play reminded me of that time in your life when it is ok to just literally make things that will be washed away by the days end and not give that a second though.

This painting I love because of the kids figures and the way the light is falling on them. These are SO hard to photograph. In person the violets in the castles are softer and more lilac and the kids skin tone is not quite as sunburned as it appears, but a softer tone. The pinks are much more of a neon on his hat and the ocean is much lighter hue.
