Back Shadow Frame

This painting was an evolution from my series of yellow sweater skiers. She started out that way I think and then it turned into the sea behind her and the flowers were dropped in and all of a sudden it was a whole new setting. She is sunlit to an extreme and her shirt is linen and the painting is on linen so it makes for a nice tactile feel. I love to do these solo women on the beach like this. It is just so freeing and the setting is one that is ideal. I really love this painting.
