I did a series of pieces from my backyard and this Adirondack one was started sitting on my studio steps and then finished in my studio with layer on layer of paint. The chairs were only as important to me as the grass around them and the grass itself is the focal point which is only because the grass was so green it felt like Ireland. Seriously green grass. I do still consider an Adirondack chair as the ultimate summer seat. What I am happiest about with this painting is it such a graphic approach and is such a clean piece of green as an accent.
