The sun hitting the side of Jennings Cottage is always beautiful on a sunny summer afternoon. This piece is very similar to many I have painted over the years. I keep thinking it would start to be redundant and even boring to keep painting these cottages over and over but every single year I am a different painter- one more year of experience makes a difference to any artist. I don't think I will ever get tired of painting Nimrod. And the sun there is just so special. What drew me to this scene was that the light shining on the front of the cottage is shown through the window. It is amazing to be in this cottage when that happens in the late afternoon when the door is open and the sun is coming in. It is even better to be napping on the bed when it does.
