Maple Shadow Frame

This is an original oil painting.

I often paint children on the beach like this one and noticed recently that it is literally like I am using a camera. My vantage point is like I am taking a photo. However, they are completely invented so I could have it another way, but I don’t. That is maybe for a therapy session but this little guy bears a resemblance to my middle child and I thought about keeping it before I remembered that he has -I hate to even think how many-paintings I have done that look like him. I have three children and they all sneak into my work. Because I think we can’t help it.

This guy found a string in the ocean but of course my interest is in the light. The way the light is shining on his head and just capturing moment.
