Maple Shadow Frame

One of the newest abstracts. This painting is one that helps sum up what I wanted from this year. I want to be happy in my studio and have the end result display that feeling. This painting is so full of layers that it practically bounces in its frame. I added colors, took away, moved objects, then took them away. It all was my need to lose myself in the work and not think, overly, about what was a pretty brutal year. Out of any year in my painting career, this one has been focused on how I feel making a painting and my not stopping until i feel like the work reflects it. I still smile when I look at this painting. It gave me hours and hours of happiness.
