This is an original Oil Painting

I have not been doing many abstract pieces this Fall and I can’t tell you why. I just roll with what is working and what is interesting to me and don’t overthink it. The minute someone asks or expects me to do something I am like a toddler and just refuse to let it come naturally. Other artists might understand this!

This one though is one of my favorite paintings from this year. It is called Striped Cabana because that is what I see when I look at it. I did a whole series of Holiday based paintings and this feels like that series and what is better than a holiday? Striped? Sun smothered colors? I am not an angsty painter and in fact, do everything in my power not to be an angsty person. This piece I love for it being what it is.
