Maple Shadow Frame

This piece is part of the work I do that is pure color theory abstract. The paint is applied thickly with many layers so you see many other colors hovering around other colors in person than in the photographs. The square shape of this canvas lends itself to many different locations, hanging wise, and despite the very direct and heavy handling of the paint, feels lighter than expected when it is on the wall. I find the swath of colors to be relaxing but still very vibrant. This piece works great on a larger wall because of the more square shape of the canvas.
