This painting is from snow ski vacation. I could paint day and night the way the jackets and skiers fly down a mountain and throw some un streaks through the trees and it is begging to be painted. Snow is always a draw for me because of the various whites and blues and all around contrast of day or night scenes. I also think snow is the only good thing about winter. My paintings of people in snow gear and raring to go could also be filed under my holiday series. Whether it is sand or snow, the areas around the objects make them even more appealing.

This woman is waiting for her kids to catch up to her. Or she is lost. But as we say- just go downhill and you won’t be lost for long!

Snow is magical for me because I grew up in a place that rarely had snow, so to this day it brings a true thrill to see it coming down. I immediately have to text everyone in my family down in Louisiana and brag. these paintings try to capture how the snow makes me feel. Blissful.
