Maple Shadow Frame

In her Idyllic park setting, the interest in this painting to me was the sun on the white of her dress contrasting with the dark green shadows. I am so interested in the light that falls on white that I do this often. White is actually about a million different colors and it is the most fun color to paint and it is a nice pop of really cool colors in the heat of the warm summer greens and yellows. I definitely glamorize the past when people wore the white billowing gowns but am aware and I paint them whenever I can just to play with lights and shadows.
