Maple Shadow Frame

This was a painting I did with a beach theme of almost abstract except for the small boat that makes it read as realistic, so it bridges both- I seem to do that a lot. I have done a lot of paintings this way that pushes an abstract color theory painting into a realistic one with just one small element added, whether it is a boat or a cloud or any other small thing that is recognizable. I love this painting in person and it was in my son William's room for a long time until he got enough paintings of himself that this one is ready to go to a new home.
