From a still life series I worked on this past summer. As the series evolved painting one after another, I began to focus on moving objects around and then to the very edge of the table and just in general, approaching things more and more abstractly as it went along. This painting is called Edge because of the way that last piece of fruit is hovering right there about to roll off. I like things in paintings that look like they are right on the precipice of something happening and this piece is one of my favorite from a series of still lifes that were a pure pleasure to paint.
