Shadow Frame

A little snow painting is a subject I visit again and again. I am not a winter person. In fact, the only good thing about winter to me is snow. I also like a fire and hot cocoa and stuff like that but in all honestly- snow is the appeal. Ideally I would have it snow for 2 months and then winter would be over.  But I have to tell you- the colors in the winter when it has snowed just bring me great joy. People tend to dress in all black all the time in the winter until it snows then out come the stripes, bright red coats and in general it is a little more exciting color wise.

People ask me all the time about the no faces in my paintings and it is simple, the specific face is not what is interesting to me, it is the fact that it represents all people or capturing one with a few simple strokes of the paint. THAT is fun, but worrying with all the features when my interest in is the scene is just irrelevant to me.  When anyone sees paintings of my kids that I've done they are stunned to find that I can paint a face because I guess it seems like I can't when it is just a choice.
