Maple Shadow Frame

I did a whole series of these mountain scenes in a sort of flurry. I do that sometimes and it is the best of times in the studio when that happens. These works started from a treelike series I have done over the years but many of these have a bright pink underpainting that is allowing so much depth and feeling in the smallest of panels. I used my fingers to draw line, fingers to take paint away, and brushes and palette knives. In short I used whatever I wanted. As artists we should always do that but it sometimes comes easier than other times and for thee I just played in the paint. None of them are anything more specific than the other but just me in the studio spending some time in the mountains.
