This painting is named Pops III because with this series of abstracts that is exactly what I am looking for, bright vibrant color and neutral binding colors and a little bit of understanding how that works make the colors leap off the canvas. The pops of color, many of which are applied with palette knife, thin brushes, thick brushes and everything in between are every color on my palette and then every mixed one as well. It may seem like more color is always better but the secret to being able to pop a color is what it is next to, and that is where the neutrals come in. If you just throw bright colors at a painting without the binding neutrals you get, surprisingly, a less vibrant and fairly static piece of work. I love these pieces. This painting can be hung vertical or horizontal.
