Maple Shadow Frame

I always paint the hay bales at Nimrod. There is a time in the summer when the gold hay rolls are sitting on the literally emerald colored grass and I simply can't not paint them. It is Bath County, but it could be anywhere. This painting is maybe more vivid than you might think unless you have ever walked about 7pm and see the late afternoon lights and the contrast they create. Pure summer.
